We require a motivated native English teacher with a lively attitude to work in a well established school with 100+ students about 2hrs south of Barcelona. Candidates should have a degree and CELTA or equivalent EFL qualification and also be an EU passport holder.

Teaching experience is an advantage, especially with children, as half of our students are under 12. However, newly qualified teachers are welcome to apply.

The timetable includes one to one classes, children groups and adult groups with students of all levels, normally between 4.00pm and 10.00pm Mons to Fris.

We offer a full time (about 25 contact hrs) legal contract with paid holidays from January 2007 to end of June 2007. A competitive salary is offered and will be between 1000 to 1200 Euros gross a month including social security according to experience and qualifications.

This position could be suitable for a person who prefers a lifestyle away from the big city and who would like the opportunity to experience Spanish life and culture in a coastal town. Some knowledge of Spanish would be an advantage (but not essential) living in this area and there is a great opportunity to improve your Spanish skills.

Simon’s School is run on a friendly professional basis. There is a nice atmosphere in the school and both students and teachers find it a pleasant environment in which to study or work.

The school is located in Sant Carles de La Rapita, a coastal town in the south of Catalunya. The town is famous for its fishing industry and popular with tourists for its climate, beaches and for being on the edge of the Ebro Delta - an extensive area of rice fields, nature reserves and a huge variety of bird species. Also, the mountains behind the town are an ideal location for walking.
