TEACH ENGLISH NEAR BARCELONA
The British American Institute in Mataró, Spain has a full-time vacancy for an experienced and qualified EFL teacher October 2006 - June 2007 (renewable). Work at an independent, medium-size school in a pleasant atmosphere.
Our classes are scheduled from 17:30 until 20:30 Monday/Wednesday and 17:30-22:00 Tuesday/Thursday. Friday, we offer classes from 15:00- 18:00 & 18:15 to 21:15, and Saturday morning from 9:30 until 12:30. A full-time workload is considered 21-24 hours per week (7-8 classes of three hours). Two or three of these classes would be teaching young learners (10-16 years old) in our "Junior" program, the rest teaching adults at any level from beginner to Proficiency (although, unless quite experienced at teaching Cambridge Exams, a new teacher would not be given these higher-level classes).
Salary: Approximately 1,335 per month for a 24 hour/week timetable with no exam classes (exam classes pay approx. 15% more), plus possibility of outside business classes.
Only applicants who fulfil ALL of the following requisites will be considered:
* Native speaker of English
* University degree
* Minimum of 3 years EFL teaching experience
* CELTA or equivalent (RSA/DELTA preferred)
* Spoken Spanish at intermediate level or better
* EU passport or current Spanish working papers
* Experience with young learners (10-16 years old)
* Minimum of a two-year commitment to job
* Applicant must be available to interview at school before July 15
