Saudi Arabia, Al Khafji
NEW TQ PROJECT IN SAUDI ARABIA SEEKS STAFF FOR AN OCTOBER START.
We are looking for experienced professionals to fill a number of posts for a new start-up project in Al Khafji.
- Academic Training Manager
- Blended Learning Manager
- Native English Speaking Instructors of EFL
- Bilingual Instructors of EFL
- Bilingual Instructors of Technical Maths (delivered in English)
TQ, part of the Pearson Group, and a leading provider of high-quality vocational training in the Gulf, is seeking to staff a new start-up project in Saudi Arabia to establish a vocational training college in the north-east of Saudi Arabia at Al Khafji. The new college, which will eventually grow to a capacity of 3,000 students, will offer 2-year Diploma Programs to Saudi High-School graduates leading to vocational certification at City & Guilds Level 3 in a range of specialities including welding, mechanical, pipe-fitting, electronics, and air-conditioning. TQ has been the single training provider at a similar college, Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP) in Dammam since 2008, and the new college in Al Khafji will be closely modelled on the experience and success of SPSP in Dammam.
EFL and Maths Instructors at the new college will work together in a team led by the Academic Training Manager and a Senior Instructor delivering a well-structured program of English Language, Technical Mathematics and Safety to an initial intake of 300 students placed within 15 learning groups.
Al Khafji is located on the eastern coast of Saudi Arabia, 10 km south of the Saudi-Kuwait border, about 130 km South of Kuwait City and 300 km North of Dammam and the causeway to Bahrain. The town has a population of 65,000 and has schools, clinics, hospitals, and some supermarkets and shops, but it does not compare with a large modern Saudi Cities such as Dammam or Al Khobar and it is still very much work-in-progress in terms of development and modernisation. The climate is arid, sometimes humid, but very pleasant in Spring and late Autumn and quite cool in Winter. Summers are hot and dry.
During the working week, life in Al Khafji is expected to be quiet and facilities for recreation are limited, but it is beside the sea and there are opportunities for fishing, boating, swimming, and the sporting and recreation facilities of the College will be available to staff outside working hours. Many staff will probably prefer to spend weekends in larger metropolitan centres like Kuwait City, Al Khobar or Bahrain, for which transport will be provided.
