I was recruited by Ambermax (agency in London) from this site and they were very good - they also recruit for other more reputable organisations - I had no problem with them. However, problems with the Saudi company ZIDNY TRAINING (Riyadh) soon became apparent.

After a few phone interviews I was offered the position and told start dates will follow. However, I heard nothing from them and after me sending numerous reminder emails, I had no option but to seek work elsewhere. I even emailed and asked what was happening but no response.

They are typical of many in Saudi who promise a lot but deliver little and are very unreliable. So be careful and ensure you get contracts and visas arranged well in advance. Even better, speak to an existing expat employee who can substantiate company claims.

Better still work for a good organisation like Language Solutions who do what they say and are very well organised.

Thanks for the heads up. In general in KSA, i've found they don't tell you that they don't want to (or can't) hire you. They just stop contacting you, and leave it up to you to figure out. Even if they have promised a package or at least a reply. This is important to know about saudi business culture. If they want you, they may contact you too much. If they don't want you, they simply move on, no courtesy call or email. Knowing this helps.
