Resource centre - ESL exams - Comparison
The table below compares ESL exams using the
Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEF).
The CEF divides language learners into six levels, A1 (Breakthrough), A2
(Waystage), B1 (Threshold), B2 (Vantage), C1 (Effective Operational
Proficiency), and C2 (Mastery).
Bear in mind that these are not hard and fast comparisons - the score that a
student can expect in any exam depends on many factors, preparation time and
motivation among them.
