You are a woman and you are Turkish. Interesting, I love reading the blog. When did you finish your CELTA? Actually, i am thinking a bit hard where to have my CELTA. I am in the Philippines. My first plan is Bangkok but my husband suggested that it would be better if I go to English speaking counties like Canada, Australia and so on. Can you give me insights regarding this?

Dear Tara. Thank you for your supportive comment
Comments as such are always a source of motivation for me. Not only in teaching but in everything I do
As for where you want to take the course… Well, first of all I would suggest you take it somewhere where living standards are cheap such as food rent etc. Plus being with your husband or family is very important, because when you come home, seeing their face motivates you after a CELTA day.
However, taking the course in Canada or Australia would not matter much because all the teachers that teach in CELTA courses are the best out there. So, teachers in USA or UK are no better than the teachers in Bangkok etc. Don’t forget, the CELTA is from the Cambridge. Cambridge assures everyone gets the same education and treatment everywhere in the world! At least, that’s what I think, after taking my IGCSE’s in the Middle East.
Conclusion:
1. Make sure you have family around to support you
2. Take the CELTA somewhere with cheap living standards (food, transportation etc.)
3. It doesn’t matter where you take the CELTA as long as you have the “will” and “positive energy”
Wherever you wish to take the CELTA, I wish you good luck I hope I was some what able to clear your doubts.

Dear Hilal!
I just wanted to meet and ask a few questions if possible. I’m a new Celta graduate from ITI İstanbul just like you, are you still in İstanbul, working here? I’ve read that you are working at a uni, in fact I have an experience of 4,5 years (with kids and adults). This year I’ll be teaching kids at a private college but starting from the next year I really want to teach adults especially at a uni, if you could give me some advice, suggestions or any ideas about that I’d be glad. Thank you:)

Hi Emek, thanks for the comment. If you are interested in teaching in a university, I can suggest you to a few universities that I know of. Teaching to children is something beautiful, yet the joy you get from teaching adults is something special. You can email me your CV and we can talk about which uni would be best for you.
Whatever you decide to do, I wish you the best of luck
