Teaching House New York run the internationally-renowned University of Cambridge CELTA course in the heart of New York City at the Manhattan campus of St. John’s University.

The CELTA is the bench-mark course for English language teachers to take and there is nowhere better to take it than at Teaching House New York: a school dedicated to teacher training for ESL teachers.

We run CELTA courses both intensively (over 4 weeks) and extensively (over 16 weeks).
Our extensive course runs on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and is designed to suit people who work or study during the day. We run extensive courses in the spring and fall and our intensive courses run throughout the year (Monday to Friday).

We get a variety of trainee teachers on the course. Some have little or no experience as TEFL teachers, and some have experience but require certification to apply for better-paid jobs. We feel this diverse mix creates a supportive environment which benefits everyone.
