The Cambridge ESOL CELTA course is a four-week, intensive course, leading to a Certificate which is recognised worldwide. The course consists of 140 timetabled hours and is full-time, from 9 am to 5 pm five days a week for 4 weeks. The course is run by a team of highly qualified and experienced tutors who will help you prepare for your teaching practice, in which you will teach a minimum of 6 hours.
The course is predominantly practical and afternoons are dedicated to teaching practice. In addition you will need to allow plenty of time for extra unsupervised private study (e.g. reading, research, the writing of assignments, lesson preparation) both in the evenings and at weekends.
Once you are accepted on a course you will be sent a pre-course assignment, plus a short reading list. Completing these tasks will prepare you for the course by raising your awareness of language and language learning.
The Cambridge ESOL CELTA course at ILS English costs £1,100. If you are offered a place on the course, we will require a £100 non-refundable deposit upon your acceptance. The balance is payable a week before the course starts.
