The Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults is an English as a Foreign Language teaching qualification which is recognised world-wide. The course is approved by the University of Cambridge.
•The 120 hour course provides an introduction to pedagogical theory, language analysis, phonology and practical classroom techniques
•It includes input sessions, observations of experienced teachers, observed teaching practice, written assignments and guided reading
•The course is intended for those with little or no previous teaching experience, or those with no formal teaching qualification
•Assessment is continuous throughout the course and focuses on participation in input sessions, performance in teaching practice, self and peer appraisal and written assignments
•Each CELTA course is checked and approved by an external assessor appointed by UCLES to ensure consistent high standards
Requirements:
Participants should have native speaker competence in written and spoken English, a tertiary level education, and should be at least 20 years of age. Acceptance on the course requires completion of pre-course tasks and a group or telephone interview
