This course is for experienced in-service teachers of ESOL leading to the award of the University's MA in TESOL (60 M level points). It is of particular interest to professionals who wish to broaden their understanding of a wide range of TESOL issues and develop a specialist expertise in a particular field while building experience in the methodologies that underpin educational research.
The subjects covered are:-
Research methods (qualitative and quantitative)
A design of a research project negotiated with a supervising tutor.
Applicants must have a first degree or equivalent qualification, at least two years' experience teaching within the profession. Non-native speaker applicants are expected to possess English language competence equivalent to IELTS level 7.0.
