What is TKT?

TKT is a new test from Cambridge ESOL about teaching English to speakers of other languages. It aims to increase teachers' confidence and enhance job prospects by focusing on the core teaching knowledge needed by teachers of primary, secondary or adult learners, anywhere in the world. This flexible and accessible award will help you to understand:

- different methodologies for teaching
- the 'language of teaching'
- the ways in which resources can be used
- the key aspects of lesson planning
- classroom management methods for different needs

After taking TKT, teachers who want to develop their knowledge further can progress to Cambridge ESOL's well-established teaching awards, such as ICELT (In-service Certificate in English Language Teaching) and CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults).

THE CELT ATHENS TKT PREPARATION COURSE

The short preparation course organised by CELT Athens aims to help you get through the three different examination papers successfully and is organised around the three modules related to the test.

The course is 30 hours in length and covers the syllabus thoroughly.

During the Winter term:
Sessions are twice per week and the course is completed over 10 weeks.

During the Summer & Fall Terms:
Sessions are every day & the course is completed over 2 weeks.

WHO CAN ATTEND THIS COURSE

Anyone, whether trained or untrained is welcome to attend this course but it should be noted that those who have already attended methodology courses will be more likely to get the best out of its content.
