The Cambridge DELTA (Diploma in English Language Teaching to Adults) is the best known qualification for experienced and previously trained TEFL teachers.

CELT has been offering Cambridge Diploma courses since 1993 and is proud of its high pass track record in these examinations approved and administered by Cambridge ESOL.

The courses offered at CELT are part time (either 30 weeks - one academic year) or 12 months) and assume candidates are working teachers in the Athens area or nearby.

The centre helps teachers find appropriate teaching posts if they wish to apply and have the requisite training and prior teaching experience with adult groups.

ABOUT THE CENTRE:

CELT Athens is an Authorized Teaching Awards Centre with UCLES Approval to offer Diploma course and to act as an Examination Centre for these Diplomas.

The CELT Athens tutorial team has been running Diploma courses since 1989 and includes some of the best-known teacher trainers in Greece. Apart from the high professionalism of the tutorial team, CELT Athens offers its candidates:

1/ An excellent Support system with tutorials and a website dedicated to the DELTA candidates where they can find articles, sample assignments, revision and much more.

2/ A highly specialized Language & Methodology Self-Access Centre for trainees on the course The material and tasks will soon be available on the DELTA web.

3/ A Lending Library facility for its candidates containing all the titles they need in order to study and prepare assignments and lessons.Library membership is free for the duration of the course.

LINKS TO POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES IN THE UK AND US

The Cambridge Diploma holder is considered as a holder of a Level 5 qualification. Αs such, s/he is entitled to apply for postgraduate training in British Colleges and Universities and is given credit or exemptions. For more information, please visit the Cambridge ESOL website link below:

COURSE OPTIONS:
There are three course options currently offered at CELT.

1/ A 30-week ( 8-month) course which prepares candidates for the written examination in June or December. Sessions are held twice a week on weekdays a.m.
2/ A 10 intensive weekends option. Sessions are held approximately once per month (all day Saturday & Sunday).
3/ A 60-week (16-month) option with one session per week a.m.
