www.celt.edu.grThe CELT Athens Certificate Course in TEFL is a highly practical programme introducing teachers without previous training and/or experience to the principles and techniques of teaching and learning a foreign language. No classroom teaching experience is required for acceptance on this course although a high level of English is expected.
The course aims to provide participants with a solid foundation for effective teaching and further professional development. On completing this course, participants are expected to be able to prepare and teach lessons based on their assigned coursebook as well as to be able to adapt and supplement it for the benefit of their learners where appropriate. * Testing and Evaluation
* Teaching Young Learners
* Mixed Ability Classes
* Classroom Management
* Teaching Vocabulary
* Developing the Language Skills & Skills Integration(Listening/Speaking/Reading/Writing)
* Materials Evaluation, Adaptation & Design
The course is assessed in order to supply teachers and their prospective employers with evidence of professional competence in language and methodology. A Certificate of Attendance and a Letter of Attainment are awarded to participants who have completed their assignments, participated in Teaching Practice and submitted a coursebook based Project Assignment.
Since its inception it has provided certification for native and non-native TEFL teachers and school owners with a Certificate level qualification which has gained the respect of employers and colleagues. It is a course highly recommended by Foreign Language Schools in Greece as a minimum prerequisite for entry into the profession and used by many teachers with international jobs.
