The TEFL Worldwide course is an initial qualification for teaching English as a foreign language. (TEFL). The 125 hour course is designed to provide trainees with a good command of the fundamental procedural skills used in EFL/ESOL classrooms. The course gives trainees the chance to make practical use of theoretical knowledge and gives a solid foundation for self–evaluation and further professional development. The course is effectively participatory in nature and teaching practice forms the main component.
The four-week intensive course covers teaching approaches and methods, lesson planning, language awareness sessions on the structural, lexical and phonological aspects of English, as well as assignment work on learner needs and one-to-one teaching.

Nevertheless, teaching practice comprises 50% of the final grade and this reflects the practical focus of the TEFL Worldwide course.
The program offers quality training, both theoretical and practical in nature, in a relaxed environment and provides an excellent insight into EFL teaching methods and language awareness, as well as supportive teaching practice with students at all levels.
Lesson Planning
The program also makes time at the end of each day for lesson planning assistance so that trainees have plenty of help and guidance for the preparation of classes. Lesson plans, teaching materials and suggestions also provide a range of ideas and resources for the trainees’ own lesson preparation.
Input Sessions
The program offers a good understanding of teaching methodology, language awareness, lesson planning and an array of student-centred lesson plans and helpful techniques for English teaching. Each lesson is supplemented by informative worksheets, tips and suggestions as well as a list of useful titles for further reading. In addition, the trainers are always available to offer support and advice with the selection of appropriate materials, coursebooks and supplementary worksheets to create enjoyable and engaging lessons for students.
The teaching methodology lessons cover a variety of topics including teaching vocabulary, error correction, classroom management, one-to-one teaching and the use of course books, authentic materials, video, and computers in the classroom. There are also demonstration lessons, and language awareness classes that focus
on English grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
Teaching Practice
The teaching practice component at TEFL Worldwide consists of 8 to 10 hours of teaching throughout the course, and gives trainees the opportunity to teach classes and one-to-one lessons at a variety of levels. The classes are made up of friendly and motivated Czech students. Teaching practice takes place four afternoons a week and allows trainees to work cooperatively in a supportive atmosphere with valuable feedback and comments from trainers at the end of each lesson.
Survival Czech Lessons
Trainees also receive Czech lessons in the early stages of the course that help with basic communication and functional language around Prague, including asking for directions or ordering food in a restaurant. The classes are taught communicatively and should also provide a good understanding of language learning and teaching techniques that can be used in future lessons.
