If so then this course is for you! Hess Education Canada’s globally recognized 60 hour intensive TEFL course is designed to teach you how to teach English as a foreign language. Theory is blended with practical use to give you the skills you need to be an effective teacher. Using the communicative approach, you will learn classroom management strategies, the differences between the adult and child learner, multiple intelligence theory and how to create lesson plans that take into account different learning styles. You will learn how to supplement your lessons by using games, art, songs and other resources. You will also be prepared for culture shock and learn how to write a résumé and cover letter for jobs overseas and what to look for in a contract.
Most importantly, you will get hands on practice with lesson planning. From the second class on you will not only learn the components of lesson planning and the different kinds of lesson plans there are, you will also begin making lesson plans. You will make lesson plans to teach reading, writing, speaking, listening, grammar, pronunciation and vocabulary. In addition you will get hands on practice presenting the lesson plans in mini-teaching segments and then evaluation and one on one feedback. 60 hours Intensive TEFL Certification Program
