Study for a TEFL certificate in Argentina
Want to learn to teach TEFL in Buenos Aires? Here’s what EBC say about their TEFL course…
“Come and study with EBC in Buenos Aires. The only officially accredited TEFL training course in Buenos Aires with an unrivalled job placement assistance programme.
EBC has trained and placed over 1,000 students.
We at EBC know that job worries are always there but we can emphatically state that so far, everyone that has wanted to get teaching work after finishing our course has done so regardless of what passport they hold. It is quite normal to be interviewing and working within about a week of finishing the course.”

This is a completely unsubstantiated claim. I can’t believe that EBC are trying to coerce and maniplute young students into their sub-par program saying that they are the only accredited TEFL center in Buenos Aires. They also couldn’t have “unrivalled job placement” in Argentina, they are a company from Spain and trained people there only to be accredited this year, 2005.
This is a company that takes you for suckers and blokes all for a quick buck.
EBC, a you clearly know your post are not true hence you know full well that there are several other centres in Buenos Aires that came before you, Bridge Linguatec in 2003, TEFLocal, International House, Travelling Teachers, among others. EBC arrived in Argentina last out of these mentioned in arrived here 2005, training absolutely no one before May 2005. For them to CLAIM that they are the ONLY accredited course and “emphatically state” that know what is best for students and teachers learning TEFL is not only wrong, it is blantant fraud.
It is sad to see that the code of ethics held up by the College of Teachers allows such behavior. I could understand if it was a steriod scandal or punch clock issue with the industrail waste and body builders they accredit, but for someone in education to spread lies in the name of capital gain would make the father of education in Argentina, Domingo Sarmiento roll over in his grave.
Shame on you EBC.

Hello,
Interesting… I checked out a few of your claims regarding the EBC Argentina and Spain tefl course and was suprised to find that the claims were true.
EBC was only accredited this year, they do market that they have been accredited for years, there are many other places in Argentina that more than likely offer better job support, and I will never believe any thing EBC ever claims again. As for the College of Teachers, I couldn’t find much about them, I did find a “world’s strongest man” scandal involving a judge mentioning their name on Uk.yahoo.com however. Very interesting Bruce, I would use spell check the next time i was peeved however. Cheers.

A little factual correction.
Sorry to disappoint you Bruce but so far we have not had a single graduate come back to us and say they could not find work. We actively help people find work after the course not only in Argentina but also in other countries in South America and the rest of the world.
EBC is the only officially accredited course in Buenos Aires. TEFL Local are accredited by ITTAO which has no web presence at all. Bridge Linguatec run a CELTA course in Denver Colorado but their course in Buenos Aires is not accredited. These, I’m afraid, are facts.
For those that wish to know more about the College of Teachers, please go to www.collegeofteachers.ac.uk
EBC does not market that it has been accredited for years.
International House do not offer a TEFL Certificate course in Buenos Aires and Travelling Teachers is a portal for TEFL courses around the world.
The EBC course cannot be “sub-par” as it is accredited by the College of Teachers and the Advanced Certificate in TESOL that we award is officially recognised world-wide by the British Council, just like the CELTA and Trinity certificates.
