Teaching English in Taiwan

quote Be afraid, be very afraid! No, it's ok really but a much bigger culture shock than expected. The classes in government schools are around 35 students and 40 mins a week, so not much job satisfaction in terms of students progressing. The food is interesting unless you can speak chinese as most places do not have english menus - be brave!! If you decide to come here, commit for the year and stick it out; lots of people stay much much longer and the money is great for Asia.
