Teaching English in Paraguay

I taught in Paraguay, South America for approximately 2 years. It's quite easy to obtain English teaching work in Paraguay without formal qualifications. However, there are more opportunities and some institutes pay more if you have qualifications: TESOL, TEFL or Degree.

The academic year is from March-November/December. The best time to look for jobs is around the start of the first term in March.

Paraguay is a very affordable country to live in. In Asunción all buses have one fare which makes it extremely practical in travelling from one lesson to another.

It can be very hot and humid and travelling, so smart casual for many classes is tolerated."
